Alexander Young was born in Aberdeen, Scotland on February 1, 1869. He was a professional soldier with 24 years previous service with the RCR. Alexander joined the 52nd Bn at Port Arthur on October 31, 1915. He died the same day as LtCol Hay, June 3, 1916. He was survived by his wife Annie Young of Quebec City.
